Bay Area Survivor of Human Trafficking Shares Story of Hope
FREMONT, Calif. — Dec. 3, 2010 — Minh Dang, a survivor of human trafficking from San Jose, will share her incredible story of hope, courage, and triumph at an event organized by California Against Slavery.
“Human trafficking is a criminal business that profits from enslaving people for sexual servitude and forced labor. It is flourishing in California because the law is weak,” said Daphne Phung, executive director of California Against Slavery. “Minh Dang’s story is just one example of modern day slavery in our local communities.”
The non-profit organization is working to pass an initiative on the 2012 California ballot to strengthen current human trafficking laws and increase victims’ rights.
Event Date/Time: Friday, December 3, 2010, at 7:30 p.m to 9:00 p.m.
Location: Fremont Community Church, 39700 Mission Boulevard, Fremont, CA 94536
Price: Free and open to the public
