SUMMARY:NBC7 San Diego STOLEN Documentary Series Debut
DESCRIPTION:From NBC 7 comes STOLEN; an expansive documentary series about sex trafficking and the exploitation of children in San Diego County and beyond. \nTold from multiple perspectives\, STOLEN explains why the illicit child sex market thrives in San Diego County and across the U.S.\, while chronicling the strength of survivors\, their families\, and advocates working to break that destructive cycle and reclaim their stolen lives. \nUnderstand the issue in a new way by hearing the jailhouse recordings of a convicted trafficker manipulating two teen girls into selling themselves online.  The tapes led to an NBC7 investigation exposing gaps in the justice system that allow people who pay to sexually assault children to face little to no consequences. \nThe seven-episode documentary series is the product of a year-long investigation that includes exclusive interviews and\, for the first time ever\, substantial proof of the scope of the problem in San Diego County schools. And as a global pandemic shifts the education system into a virtual space\, experts warn of exploiters targeting children online\, now more than ever before. \nClick the link to watch the trailer\, view episodes 1-7\, and learn how to keep the conversation going.

SUMMARY:Rise Up for Children Demonstration
DESCRIPTION:WHAT IS RISE UP FOR CHILDREN?  \nRISE UP FOR CHILDREN is an awareness campaign initiated by Operation Underground Railroad. It was inspired by Founder and CEO Tim Ballard’s remarks he made in this video on Sunday\, July 12.  Child trafficking is not a conspiracy theory. It is the fastest-growing criminal enterprise in the world. 2020 has been a horrific year for our children. Since COVID-19 hit\, The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) has experienced a 90.46% increase in CyberTipline reports between January – June 2020 versus the same time period in 2019\, and the numbers are rising. \nWHY JULY 30TH?  \nJuly 30th is World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. Please note: Human Trafficking Awareness Day is in January\, so please say “World Day Against Trafficking” when you spread the word. \nNote: Park in front of Sushiya/Club Pilates

SUMMARY:CESE 2020 Online Global Summit
DESCRIPTION:WHY THE ONLINE GLOBAL #CESESummit?\nThe rise of the Internet\, social media\, and other technologies have completely revolutionized the way people live. Along with the good these developments have made possible\, they have also unleashed tidal waves of sexual harm: \npornography exposure abuse; sexually explicit and sexually violent video games; child sexual abuse images; spycamming; sexting; sextortion; “sugar daddy” sites; online sex trafficking; prostitution review boards; compulsive sexual behaviors; grooming\, and more \nModern technology is accelerating the pace and scale of sexual abuse and exploitation. This reality—combined with a toxic deluge of pop culture messages normalizing harmful attitudes and behaviors—is rapidly transforming forms of sexual abuse\, violence\, and exploitation from the intolerable to the fashionable and “normal.” \nYoung people are the most impacted. They have little to no chance of living lives free from the harmful impacts of these phenomena. \nThese challenges are urgent. If we don’t act now\, we may miss this narrow window of opportunity to turn the tide. We must stand together to confront the rising tide of abuse and exploitation. \nThis is why the Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation Online Global Summit creates a one-of-a-kind setting\, where people from across sexual abuse and exploitation sectors\, as well as from a diverse range of professional\, political\, and personal backgrounds\, coalesce to be informed\, equipped\, connected and inspired. \nDon’t miss this unique opportunity to find common purpose with others who believe in preserving respect\, intimacy\, mutuality\, responsibility\, and love in human sexual relationships. \nCome join the Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation as we fight for a world free from sexual abuse and exploitation!
