SUMMARY:ASU 2021 Human Trafficking Speaker Series
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will examine the existing gaps in services and intervention for survivors of labor trafficking (both domestic and foreign-born). Mr. Masood will address the inequalities in legal protections for survivors of labor trafficking\, as well as best practices for service providers (e.g.\, first responders\, attorneys\, victim advocates\, social services\, etc.) over the course of a legal proceeding and aftercare. \nThe presentation will also expound on the shortcomings of awareness and outreach for those who may be at-risk of labor trafficking. Finally\, this presentation will identify the realities men and boys face when service needs must be addressed. Throughout this webinar\, personal anecdotes on topics such as long-term financial stability\, relationship-building\, and education planning will be discussed from a survivor’s point of view.

SUMMARY:Free Online Training: Investigation of Child Homicide *Re-Broadcast*
DESCRIPTION:Investigating child abuse cases require coordination and communication to ensure a successful outcome. First and foremost\, protecting the child is our goal and even in homicide cases there are often other children in the home that require the attention of child protective services. It is critical that everyone work together to make sure that all children involved are protected\, evidence is not lost\, and efforts are not duplicated. It is critical that law enforcement officers and child protective services’ investigators work together throughout the entire investigation.

SUMMARY:Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation
DESCRIPTION:The rise of the Internet\, social media\, and other technologies have completely revolutionized the way people live. Along with the good these developments have made possible\, they have also unleashed tidal waves of sexual harm: \npornography exposure abuse; sexually explicit and sexually violent video games; child sexual abuse images; spycamming; sexting; sextortion; “sugar daddy” sites; online sex trafficking; prostitution review boards; compulsive sexual behaviors; grooming\, and more \nModern technology is accelerating the pace and scale of sexual abuse and exploitation. This reality—combined with a toxic deluge of pop culture messages normalizing harmful attitudes and behaviors—is rapidly transforming forms of sexual abuse\, violence\, and exploitation from the intolerable to the fashionable and “normal.” \nYoung people are the most impacted. They have little to no chance of living lives free from the harmful impacts of these phenomena. \nThese challenges are urgent. If we don’t act now\, we may miss this narrow window of opportunity to turn the tide. We must stand together to confront the rising tide of abuse and exploitation. \nThis is why the Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation Online Global Summit creates a one-of-a-kind setting\, where people from across sexual abuse and exploitation sectors\, as well as from a diverse range of professional\, political\, and personal backgrounds\, coalesce to be informed\, equipped\, connected and inspired. \nDon’t miss this unique opportunity to find common purpose with others who believe in preserving respect\, intimacy\, mutuality\, responsibility\, and love in human sexual relationships.
