How can USD lead the fight to end Human Trafficking?

January 29, 2020 @ 9:00 am - January 30, 2020 @ 5:00 pm

Free

Stopping Traffic is a two-day solutions summit jointly hosted by USD School of Law and the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies focused on answering this question. The goal of Stopping Traffic is to develop a campus-wide initiative to address human trafficking locally, nationally and globally.

Stopping Traffic will provide the opportunity for those within the USD community, including all academic departments and institutes, as well as alumni and community members working in San Diego within the human trafficking field, to explore and design an innovative and effective role for USD in addressing this issue. This program will be facilitated by individuals with lived experience and will invite participants to examine the problem of human trafficking holistically–by gaining insight into the root causes from those involved, and developing solutions.

Participants will take part in design thinking activities to construct USD’s role and develop a roadmap for advancing opportunities. The result of the program will be a plan of action for the University, supported by a campus-wide community invested in creating long-term change and impact.
